Mac N Cheese, Homemade. Kid Approved.


Be careful with this one! It’s not just for the kids 🙂

My kids have grown up with homemade mac n cheese. Not that I’m fancy, I’m FAR from it. It’s because it’s easy and I always have the ingredients on hand, AND, the best thing is making the family food with real ingredients, not processed and packaged crap.


  • Noodles (any kind you have. I even use organic brown rice noodles or quinoa noodles.)
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt to taste


Make a rue with the butter and flour by melting the butter over medium heat and once melted, add the flour and stir. Immediately as it forms together, pour in the milk and stir. Then add the shredded cheese and salt. Once it becomes a cheese sauce, turn off heat and add your pre-boiled noodles.

Tip: Boil your noodles in salted water. Drain but don’t rinse them.


Optional: add in broccoli! So so good.
